Former Kadapa Mayor P. Raveendranatha Reddy was released on bail on orders issued by Kadapa First Additional District Magistrate P.R. Rajiv on Friday in a cheating and forgery case.

Raveendranatha Reddy, who had surrendered on February 27, was produced in court by Kadapa One Town police on completion of 24-hour police custody on Friday morning. The police told the court that as the former Mayor did not give proper replies during interrogation they filed a petition seeking permission to conduct lie-detector, brain mapping and narco-analysis tests on the accused. The magistrate posted the matter to March 4.

He was charged with using a fake seal and forging signature of Kadapa District Cooperative Officer Chandrasekhar in his representation seeking elimination of bogus votes in Peddacheppali PACS.
