The continuing combing of forests and villages by the police in Adilabad has certainly hindered the movement of naxalites in the district in the last one week. No sighting of extremists has been reported during this period from areas where they are known to be concentrating in a bid for resurgence.
Combing operations are being carried out in all border police stations, especially those falling under the Kagaznagar Sub Division. Vigilance has been increased along the border with Maharashtra and ferry points on Pranahita river, where there is a possibility of naxals crossing over from Maharashtra.
Special police parties fanning out in all directions also conducted cordon and search operations in a few villages. These operations were carried out in Kadamba in Dahegaon and Vemanpalli villages among others.
