Police busts notorious gang, recovers valuables

The Three Town police arrested a four-member notorious gang that indulged in highway robberies and recovered from them 40 tolas gold, 3.5 kg silver and Rs. 20,000 here on Thursday.

According to SP S. Chandrasekhar Reddy, the gang had bumped a motor cyclist the night before and taken away the vehicle along with valuables after threatening him.

The gang retrieved the valuables from the bike, which included gold, silver and currency.

The gang was planning to dispose of the valuables in Hyderabad around which time the police arrested them during a routine check. The police seized an autorickshaw and the bike. According to the SP, the gang was allegedly involved in several offences in the past.

The members of the gang were identified as M. Choudary Ramu, a resident of Old City, K. Prabhakar, A. Syamkumar, and M. Sriramulu, all residents of Weaker Sections Colony.
