Advocates and police played a friendly cricket match on the police parade ground here on Sunday. The Principal District and Sessions Judge V. Ravi Kumar declared the match open. Winning the toss, the SP XI selected to bat.
‘Play to reduce stress’
Speaking on the occasion, the District Judge Mr. Ravi Kumar said that sports would help reduce the stress in the profession and also establish close relation between different departments and persons. Sports would also help improve health, he added.
Bar Association wins
The SP XI team scored 137 runs in 25 overs for all out. Superintendent of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal added 17 runs, while the Bar Association team won the match by defeating the rival with 139 runs in 24.3 overs losing seven wickets. The First Additional District Judge B.S. Jagjivan Kumar, First Additional Magistrate Radhakrishna Chouhan, Bar Association president Limba Goud, Additional SP (AR Commandant) Shaik Mohd. Hussain and a host of advocates were present.
