Irrigation Department on Tuesday addressed a letter to one of the two firms which together, as a consortium, had been listed by the government as L1 (lowest price bidder) to implement the three main components of Polavaram project.
The department sought the Russian firm’s comments on the report sent to the department by the Indian Embassy in Russia, an official said.
The letter is viewed as a show-cause notice and the company had been asked to reply to the letter within three days.
The embassy had directly sent a report to the department, with the information that the “previous experience” certificates furnished by it at the time of filing its tenders to fulfil a pre-condition to participate in the tenders, remained unauthenticated.
