VIJAYAWADA: Eminent scientist and the founder-director of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology , Hyderabad, P.M. Bhargava, will deliver Charles Darwin bi-centenary popular lecture on “Relevance of Darwin’s Theory of Evolution” here at Atheist Centre near Benz Circle on Thursday.

The meeting will commence at 11 a.m.

The former vice-chairman of the National Knowledge Commission is an illustrious personality with many achievements to his credit.

Besides being a recipient of Padma Bhushan, he also received the French government’s highest honour Legion d’Honneur.

After completing education in Varanasi and Lucknow, he secured Ph.D at the age of 21 and gained valuable experience in the US, U.K., France and Germany.

Dr. Bhargava authored over 125 major scientific publications and over 400 articles on a variety of subjects.

His books ‘The Saga of Indian Science Since Independence” is an acclaimed work.

His latest work “Angels, Devils and Science” was recently published.

The Executive Director of Atheist Centre Vijayam in a statement on Tuesday invited people to attend the lecture in large numbers.
