MLC Chukka Ramaiah has urged the government to establish a university on Telangana cultural studies at Karimnagar on the lines of the Dravidian University and demanded the allocation of funds for the protection of Telangana culture and historical monuments in the region.

Talking to mediapersons at Armoor on Thursday, he said there were many Buddhist monasteries which were in dilapidated condition in the Telangana region and they should be protected. Accompanied by some Buddhist monks, Mr. Ramaiah will be visiting one such monastery at Badankurthy in Adilabad district.

On the Indo-US relations he said that the Indian government instead of hobnobbing with the super power should improve friendly relations with all neighbouring countries.
