Government Whip T. Jayaprakash Reddy has urged Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to sanction a medical college for Sangareddy, the district headquarters of Medak.
He has submitted a representation to the Chief Minister in this regard and claimed that the Chief Minister has responded positively.
Mr. Jayaprkash Reddy said he had informed the Chief Minister that establishment of a medical college at Sangareddy would helpful for people from neighbouring Andol, Narayanakhed, Patancheru and Vikarabad in Ranga Reddy district.
“I have told the Chief Minister that there is no need to acquire land as sufficient space is available with the Government Hospital at the district headquarters, where a medical college is being proposed. This will also help victims injured in accidents on the national high ways passing through the district,” he told the media on Thursday.
Stating that the issue was referred to K. Ratna Kishore, Principal Secretary, Medical, Health and Family Welfare, by the Chief Minister’s Office, the Government Whip expressed confidence that medical college would be sanctioned to Sangareddy by Dasara.
He also explained the development that had taken place during the past nine years, including establishment of Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, acquiring land for its establishment at Kandi, laying of roads at several place in the constituency, construction of water tanks and supply of Manjeera drinking water for several villages.
