HYDERABAD: The New Delhi-based Consortium of Indian Farmers’ Associations has appealed to the Centre to fix the MSP of paddy at Rs.1,800 a quintal for 2008-09 season with effect from May. P. Chengal Reddy, secretary-general of the association, has made the appeal in letters written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar. He said farmers would be enthused to grow more paddy if MSP was announced.
