VISAKHAPATNAM: The Vizag Builders’ Association has appealed to the State Government to end the stalemate over denial of power connections to apartment buildings for not submitting ‘occupancy certificate’ from the municipal corporation.

Association president P. Ramajogi told reporters here on Friday that the middle class desire of owning a flat was in a limbo with the issue hanging fire for the last one year. EPDCL was insisting on the occupancy certificate only at Visakhapatnam, he said. It had adversely affected the building industry, he said.

He wanted power connections to be given to all the buildings constructed under GO 423 in the interest of the industry as well as on humanitarian grounds.
