Erratic power supply creating unrest among farmers in West Godavari
The West Godavari district administration is exploring the alternatives to save the standing agricultural crops from the erratic power supply.
The Eastern Power Distribution Company (EPDCL) is reportedly not able to supply power for even five hours at a stretch for agriculture in the district, leading to unrest among the farmers.
A section of the representatives from the private distributors of solar energy products, at a meeting held by District Collector G. Vanimohan, cited installation of solar pump sets as an alternative to overcome the undependable power situation in agriculture.
The Collector convened the meeting with the representatives of the private solar companies, bankers and officials from different government departments in an attempt to save the crops.
