Task force formed to ensure 3 per cent quota for physically-challenged
GUNTUR: The State Government is considering launching a pilot project in three mandals in each district which offered loans at 0.25 per cent interest to physically-challenged persons, said Andhra Pradesh Vikalangula Cooperative Corporation (APVCC) Chairman, B.Judson.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, he said that the Congress Government was working hard for the welfare of physically-challenged persons in the State. "The Government has filled up 7,000 posts with physically-challenged persons. Pensions at Rs.250 per month are being given to 7.5 lakh persons across the State," he said.
A State-level task force consisting of six members was formed to ensure that 3 per cent reservations for the physically-challenged were implemented in the Government and private sectors.
