Philatelist’s stamp exhibition ends

The two-day exhibition on stamps and currency collection by K. Prabhakara Rao, head, Centre for Self Employment and Rural Enterprise, National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) at the Seven Hills High School, Mancherial came to a close on Friday.

The official, who had served in various capacities in the Tribal Welfare Department, is a well-known numismatist and philatelist and has several Limca Book Records to his credit amongst others.

The students of the school got to look at the novel collection of stamps. The collection of coins, currency notes and stamps displayed by him related to the different aspects of wildlife and the life of tribal people in the country.

Mr. Prabhakar Rao has painstakingly collected currency notes on wildlife from 147 countries and coins on the same subject from 191 countries besides stamps on world tribal culture from 80 countries. He also entered the Limca Book of Records for clippings on the theme of Wonders in Wildlife-unknown facts.
