To provide healthcare to rural people
The long-felt dream of medical assistance to the rural people, residing in the far-flung interior villages along the shores of river Godavari of Mahadevpur mandal, will be fulfilled soon. The government has decided to open a primary health centre (PHC) at the Sri Kaleshwara Muktheeshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Kaleshwaram, which is tucked away on the borders of the district adjoining neighbouring Chattisgarh State.
The setting up of a PHC at Kaleshwaram temple would also benefit the pilgrims visiting the ancient temple, which is located on the shores of river Godavari.
Minister for Civil Supplies D. Sridhar Babu had made this announcement during Prajapatham programme at Kaleshwaram temple, which falls in his Manthani Assembly segment, on Monday night.
The medical officials said that they would set up a PHC in a permanent building soon. Initially, it would be manned by a medical doctor and the paramedical staff.
It would have four to six beds. Later, the hospital could be upgraded depending upon the growth and influx of devotees to the temple.
