HYDERABAD: The 10-day strike by medical students over postgraduate admissions is finally petering to an end, with PG students across the State deciding to attend emergency services from Saturday evening.

The students, who were closeted with Health Minister K. Rosaiah in a meeting convened late in the evening, earlier staged a dharna in front of the Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to the Governor, listing out the "injustice meted out" to them by the Government.

Student representatives told the media that the PG students were returning to duties in the hope that the High Court, which had issued directions to them to withdraw the strike by April 17, would listen to their version as well.

The rest of the students, who are not connected to the treatment of patients in hospitals, meanwhile would continue the strike till further decisions were taken in the wake of the Court order, they said.
