Immigration authorities on Thursday detained a person, Hassinar, 33, who had flown from Dubai, at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad allegedly for possessing a forged passport. Hassinar hails from Cherla village of Kazarghad district in Kerala, the RGIA police station Sub-Inspector, Kashivishwanath, said.

He went to Dubai in 1997 for employment three years ago. His employer had taken his original passport and refused to return it. To return to India, Hassinar approached an agent there and secured the passport of a person, K. Pramod Kumar, also from Kerala. He substituted Kumar's photo with his and boarded the flight. On arrival, the Immigration authorities detained him after finding that the passport was tampered with.
