The Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) activists on Friday demonstrated before the residence of former PCC chief D. Srinivas here, protesting against Congress high command’s alleged delaying tactics in solving the separate Telangana State issue.

The police foiled their attempt to lay siege to his residence after their demonstration for a brief period by arresting and shifting them to police station.

Meanwhile, the BJP functionaries led by party’s district president Peddolla Ganga Reddy burnt the effigy of AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, AICC State in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad and MPs Madhu Goud Yaskhi, Lagadapati Rajagopal and K.V.P. Ramchandra Rao before the RTC bus depot for their irresponsible statements on the issue.
