K. Ramakrishna, CPI State secretariat member, has urged the government to pay crop compensation to farmers as promised by the Chief Minister on the floor of the House.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said the Chief Minister promised to pay Rs. 6,000 per hectare towards the loss of crop but the officials are only paying Rs. 3,750 per hectare.
Mr. Ramakrishna said people will lose faith in Congress government if there is a mismatch between the amount promised and the compensation paid.
‘Involve all parties'
He also urged the government to involve all-party leaders in preparing the list of farmers, saying the Congress agents misused money last time and deprived the genuine sufferers.
