The Andhra Pradesh State Panchayat Raj Chamber has termed the proposed Million March by the Telangana political JAC on Thursday a “million torture” to students in particular and people of the State at large.
Chamber district chairman Mamidi Appala Naidu flayed TPJAC convener M. Kodandaram and TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao for jeopardising the future of students under the garb of agitation for statehood.
Mr. Appala Naidu later hung the effigies of Prof. Kodandaram and Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao from an electrical pole at the busy RTC Complex junction here on Wednesday.
He said Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, who turned the movement to the advantage of his family members, had no right to play with the future of innocent students.
Condemning the Million March proposal, he appreciated the government's preventive measures. He appealed to people of the Telagana region to take note of the “deceptive politics” of the TRS president and shun the “militant leadership” of Prof. Kodandaram.
He also appealed to the electronic media to act without bias in telecasting events happening in the Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.
