Centre is ready to extend financial assistance to State, she says

Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Panabaka Lakshmi on Saturday urged Prakasam district officials to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) to put up defluoridation units to overcome fluoride problem in Kanigiri and other parts of the district.

The Centre was keen to extend financial assistance provided the State came out with concrete plans to set up such plants, she said at the district-level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting.

Expressing concern over welfare activities taken up under the MPLADS scheme in Addanki Assembly segment forming part of her home parliamentary constituency of Bapatla remaining a non-starter, she asked the officials not to take up originally envisaged works. She would look into them and finalise proposals afresh, she added.

Kanigiri MLA M.Ugra Narasimha Reddy suggested the State government formulate an action plan similar to the one for Nalgonda district.
