HYDERABAD: Union Minister of State for Defence M.M. Pallam Raju on Saturday said that inclement weather could be the reason for Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s helicopter crash in Kurnool district on Wednesday.

He however said that investigations were on to determine the exact causes for the incident in which the former Chief Minister along with Group Captain S.K. Bhatia, co-pilot M. Satyanarayana Reddy, Special Secretary P. Subramanyam and Chief Security Officer A.S.C. Wesley were killed.

Mr. Raju was speaking to mediapersons after visiting Bhatia’s residence in Bolarum and consoling his family members. “It is obvious that bad weather could have led to such a tragic incident.

Now, we have to ensure that such incidents would not recur especially when VIPs are travelling in choppers,” he said.
