Union Minister M.M. Pallam Raju’s visit to the GGH here on Tuesday sparked a controversy, as the campaign for the general elections was over by Monday evening.
The Congress leader, who is contesting the Kakinada Lok Sabha seat, visited the GGH in the morning along with his followers.
He spent about half an hour in the hospital and interacted with the patients .
The TDP, the BJP, and the YSRC demanded the Election Commission take action against him for violating the election guidelines.
When contacted, Mr. Raju said: “It is purely a personal visit and nothing to do with the election campaign.
