The annual Kartheeka Brahmotsavams of Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru will be celebrated in a grand manner at the temple in Tiruchanur here starting December 2.

At a meeting to review the arrangements, TTD Executive Officer I.Y.R. Krishna Rao has directed that all the Arjitha (paid) sevas be kept suspended during the nine day fete. The TTD's health department was asked to work in close tandem with the Tiruchanur Panchayat officials in maintaining sanitation in the four ‘Mada' streets encircling the temple. The ‘Vahana Mandapam', which remained dilapidated for more than a year, was pulled down recently and a new one was being constructed well behind the existing one.

The cultural programmes will be a highlight this year, with the TTD roping in Dharma Prachara Parishat, Annamacharya Project, Dasa Sahitya Project and SV College of Music and Dance. Joint Executive Officers N.Yuvaraj (Tirupati) and P.Bhaskar (Tirumala), Chief Vigilance and Security Officer M.K.Singh and SP (Tirupati Urban) V.Ravinder were present.
