The YSR Congress backed candidates were elected presidents of 14 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies in Kadapa district, followed by seven for Congress and three for the Telugu Desam on Friday. Election of president and vice-president in Chennur PACS was postponed for want of quorum. In all, 25 PACS went to polls in the first phase, including seven societies that were decided unanimously.
Interestingly Jammalamadugu Congress MLA C. Adinarayana Reddy’s brother C. Jayarami Reddy was elected president of Jammalamadugu PACS with YSRC support. The son of Kamalapuram MLA G. Veerasiva Reddy, G. Anil Kumar Reddy (Congress), was elected president of Yerragudipadu PACS in Kamalapuram mandal and son of former ZP vice-chairman G. Lakshmi Reddy’s son G. Mohan Reddy (Congress) was elected president of Alamkhanpalle PACS in Kadapa mandal.
Those elected presidents of 14 PACS bagged by YSRC were: Duvvur - Iragamreddy Thirupal Reddy, Mydukur - A. Srimannarayana Reddy, Lingapuram - C. Nagaraja Naidu, Pondalur - L. Srinivasulu Reddy, Chinnaorampadu - T. Krishna Reddy, Muddanur - S. Ramachandrudu, Sunnapurallapalle - D. Raja Reddy, Peddamudiyam - M. Thimma Reddy, Vaddirala - N. Srinivasulu Reddy, Thippalur K.L. Konda Reddy, Gaddamvaripalle - K. Sudarshan Reddy, Vibharapuram - P. Lakshminarayana Reddy and Tsadipiralla - C. Muneendra Reddy.
The Congress-backed candidates elected presidents were: Alamkhanpalle - G. Mohan Reddy, VPR Kandriga - B. Vijaya Varma, Raghavarajapuram - M. Adinarayana, Ananthampalle - P. Rangamma, Chintakommadinne - B. Reddanna and Yerragudipadu - G. Anil Kumar Reddy.
The three TDP-supported candidates elected presidents were Chemullapalli - Redyam Chandrasekhar Reddy, Chitvel - K. Chalamaiah Naidu and Peddacheppali - K. Sainath Sarma.
