A team of two doctors from the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad, on Friday said MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi’s health condition was stable. They said he was not suffering with pain in his stomach as was complained to the Secretary, Adilabad District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), B. Madhusudan.

The latter met Mr. Owaisi in the jail as part of his routine inspection and facilitated a medical check by doctors A. Ashok and Ch. Suresh Chandra from the RIMS. The doctors examined him for about 30 minutes after which they concluded that his condition was stable.

Mr. Madhusudan denied any red ant infestation in the barrack in which the MLA was lodged.

He said there was nothing amiss so far as the availability of laid down facilities in the jail was concerned.

Meanwhile, the jail authorities denied permission to MIM Yakutpura MLA Mumtaz Ahmed Khan to meet Mr. Owaisi inside the jail. They also denied permission to another MIM MLA Afsar Khan but relented after he obtained permission from higher ups.

The MLAs also met Adilabad Superintendent of Police S. Tripathi and complained of not being allowed to meet Mr. Owaisi. Ghouse Siddiqui, a local advocate, however, was allowed to see the MLA and offer him fruits.
