The District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) Common Entrance Test (CET) 2013 passed off peacefully in Vijayawada city on Friday.

Krishna District Educational Officer D. Devanand Reddy said that of the total 9,538 applications received, 8,418 candidates appeared for the test while 1,120 candidates were absent. The authorities concerned made elaborate arrangements in and around the 40 exam centres where the candidates took the test. As many as 440 invigilators, 40 chief superintendents, 40 departmental officers and 40 centre-level observers were pressed into service to ensure smooth conduct of the common entrance test. Emergency medical facilities were kept ready to meet any emergency situation while the candidates wrote their exam from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
