The government has issued orders permitting the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to take up different works related to the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
The work components for which sanction has been accorded are part of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) portion and already approved by the agency.
These include green belt in ORR phase I to be taken up at Rs. 10 crore and illumination at a cost of Rs. 30 crore.
The other components of ORR under the intelligent transport system (ITS) are Rs. 70 crore for toll management system (TMS), Rs. 143 crore for highway traffic management system (HTMS) and Rs. 125 crore for setting up toll administrative buildings and toll canopies.
The orders also provide approval for Rs. 136 crore for ITS for Hyderabad Metropolitan Area, Rs. 20 crore for consultancy services and Rs. 41 crore for the radial road No. 15.
