HYDERABAD: Anadha Vidyarthi Griha, an orphanage at Kothapet, is seeking applications from eligible students for admission into its hostel.
Since 1919, the orphanage has been providing accommodation, food, bus pass, medicines and library membership along with some pocket money to male students pursuing post-matriculation studies in the city, informed M. Rajesh, the general secretary of the organisation, at a press conference on Tuesday.
Male students pursuing or aiming to pursue their intermediate, ITI, graduate and post graduate studies in any field are eligible to apply provided they are either orphans or destitute, he said. They will be assisted in seeking admission into various colleges too.
“We accord top priority to orphans. Second in the line are those with a single parent—a mother—with no financial resources to support their education. Apart from these, we also accept students who are extremely bright in studies but are in a despondent position due to poverty,” Mr. Rajesh informed. The orphanage also facilitates coaching for various entrance examinations such as EAMCET, I-CET, Ed-CET, IIT, TTC and GATE.
There are about 50 vacant seats this year, and last date for applications is June 15. Those seeking admission should apply with proof of educational qualifications, certification of orphan status from the respective Mandal Revenue Officers, and income certificate along with details of economic and family background.
After initial short-listing, the applicants will be called for an interview in the last week of June. Applications should be sent to M. Rajesh, Plot. No. 179, Vijayasree Colony, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad-70. For more details, one may contact 9985720394, or 040-24038676.
