Well-known ornithologist from the Vulture Breeding Centre in Pinjore, Haryana, Vibhu Prakash on Thursday advised the Nehru Zoological Park to increase the diet for the vultures during the breeding season.


On a visit to the city zoo, Dr. Prakash suggested that the diet given to the vultures be increased by 2 kg during the breeding season that falls between November and March.

While expressing satisfaction with the facilities available at the vulture breeding centre at the zoo, he offered certain suggestions such as increasing the size of breeding and nesting platforms and perches.

Education programme

Meanwhile, around 30 students form the Meridian School, Kukatpally, visited the Nehru zoo on Thursday to participate in the visitor awareness and education programme and went around holding placards with messages on conservation of nature.
