Minister for Stamps and Registration Thota Narasimham on Saturday said that the government was keen on introducing on-line registration system to enable the public to register their documents at any registration office in the State though the property concerned was located at other places. He said that online facility had come into force in Visakhapatnam and it would be extended to other places very soon. Mr.Narasimham reviewed the functioning of the registration department in Srikakulam Zilla Parishad hall.
According to him, the department which generated Rs.5600 crore in the previous financial year is keen to mobilize Rs.6, 700 crore in 2012-13.
It has already collected Rs.3,900 crore in the current financial year and expected to meet the target.
The government has released Rs.13 crore for the construction of permanent buildings to 44 registration offices across the State. The department has been able to issue 17 documents under Mee-Seva programme.
“The Registration Department is one of the oldest departments that has been functioning from 1860 onwards. We will chalk out an action plan to improve the functioning of the department ,” said Mr.Narasimham.
