Results to be announced on June 23

VIJAYAWADA: The results of the Education Common Entrance Test (EdCET)-2008 will be released on June 23 and arrangements are being made to conduct online counselling. The test is being held across the State on June 8.

Stating that the B.Ed. course would begin in September, EdCET Regional Coordinator G. Bhuvaneswara Lakshmi, at a press conference on Friday, said that 1,04,346 students applied for the examination.

Of them, 9,001 were from the districts served by Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU). The examination would be held at 22 centres in the city and six other towns under ANU.

Ms. Lakshmi said there were 105 B.Ed colleges in Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts and the seats had been reserved for different streams. While 25 per cent of the seats were reserved for mathematics stream, 30 per cent for biology and physics and the remaining 45 per cent were for English and social studies.

Hall-tickets

The despatch of hall-tickets to all the eligible candidates was completed. Candidates could also download the hall- ticket from any of the following websites: www.apsche.org, www.edcet2008.net and

www.andhrauniversity.info/edcet2008. Elaborate arrangements were made for the examination which would be held between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
