Ahead of the three-day World Telugu Conference at Tirupati from December 27, a cultural extravaganza is on cards as Ongolites are getting ready to showcase the best of indigenous culture here on December 15.
Revenue Division Officer M.S.Murali after a review of the arrangements for the cultural meet with officials from different mandals told reporters here that the DRRM High school would be the main venue for the cultural programmes. People from different walks of life including writers, artists and poets would take out an impressive rally on the arterial Trunk road highlighting the contributions of the cultural ambassadors from the district.
Competitions would be held for students on different facets of Andhra culture. A rangoli competition would be held to bring out the best from women. Their talent would also come to the fore during the Telugu food festival, he added. All those who have contributed to enrichment and development of Telugu culture would take part in the celebrations.
The city would be tastefully decorated on the occasion. The contributions of eminent personalities who hailed from the district would be highlighted during the cultural meet.
