Oil and Natural Gas Commission on Saturday distributed Rs.17.41 lakhs as aid as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) at Malleswaram in Krishna district on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, ONGC executive director A. A. Khan, who gave away the cheques to beneficiaries, said that as per Government of India norms ONGC was spending two per cent of its profits for CSR programmes and urged the beneficiaries to effectively use the funds for the purposes intended. He also called upon the beneficiaries to act as ambassadors of ONGC’s CSR scheme. On this occasion Rs.17.41 lakhs aid was distributed towards class room furniture, construction of kitchen sheds, toilets, repairing classrooms, providing drinking water facilities for schools and uniforms for school children at Narasannapalem, Allinagaram, Konkepudi, Patchapuram, Kaikaluru, Chinapadraka, Nandigama, Sriharipuram, Bantumilli, Rangaraopet, Malleswaram, and Komallapudi village schools and village amenities, community hall, sewing machines at operational areas.
