Riding on the popularity of organic food, one more store has begun selling organic vegetables in Hyderabad, from Saturday. Organic food is gaining popularity in view of the large scale use of pesticides in cultivation. “It is due to health concerns that people prefer organic vegetables and pulses. There are many reports that indicate use of excess amounts of pesticides,” said Abhinav Gangumalla, CEO, Hyderabad Goes Green.
Organic vegetables sold in the shop are grown without the use of any pesticides and are also cheaper compared to those available in super markets, says Mr. Abhinav.
These organic vegetables are sourced from Enabavi Farm in Warangal district where Non-Pesticide Management (NPM) method is practised and organic pesticides are used under the guidance and monitoring of Centre for Sustainable Agriculture (CSE).
