Agricultural land was the bone of contention
Deceased, G. Jayaramulu, was hit by his nephew
ANANTAPUR: Dispute over a piece of land between two brothers led to the killing of one in Kadirampalli village of Rayadurg mandal in the district on Friday. One G. Jayaramulu (45) died in the incident.
According to the police, Jayaramulu had a dispute over a piece of land with his elder brother. They had come to an understanding in the past so as not to cultivate the disputed piece of land till the issue of ownership was settled by the revenue officials. Accordingly, the two brothers approached the mandal revenue office.
As the Tehsildar was engaged with other duties he could not depute staff to settle the issue. In the meantime, Jayaramulu’s nephew, his elder brother’s son, Narasimulu, started tilling the disputed land on Friday, to which Jayaramulu objected. The two were engaged in a heated argument over the issue and left the disputed piece of land.
Narasimhulu allegedly switched off the motor pump set of Jayaramulu and had allegedly taken away the fuse-set, when Jayaramulu was engaged in wetting his standing crop. Angered over his nephew’s action Jayaramulu questioned the intention of Narasimhulu, to which the latter replied that he would not allow wetting the standing crop till the dispute was settled.
When Jayaramulu demanded returning of the fuse-set Narasimulu allegedly slapped his uncle and Jayaramulu collapsed immediately on the field and started bleeding from his ears. He breathed last before help came his way. The police registered a case.
