Rams into a building’s compound wall at Jubilee Hills

HYDERABAD: A tipper created havoc on road no. 72 near Prashasan Nagar of Jubilee Hills on Friday when it knocked down a motorcyclist, injured another and came to halt after ramming into a building’s compound wall. Four labourers sitting in the tipper too sustained serious injuries. It is not yet known if driver, Narender, who fled the spot, lost control or was driving rashly.

It first hit an oncoming motorcyclist, Mohd. Mashaq, 32, around 6 p.m. Mashaq, a welder from Singadi basthi of Banjara Hills, died on the spot.

The tipper went on to hit another person, Shivaraj, a courier agency delivery boy who was riding a bike. Even as passers-by ran helter-skelter shouting for help, the tipper crashed into a roadside building -- Robo House -- breaking its compound wall.

Four labourers, M. Laxman, Alli Patel, Chennaiah and Basavaraj, who were travelling in the tipper, sustained injuries. They, along with Shivaraj, were admitted to a corporate hospital.
