A labourer died in a reactor blast that at Pashamylaram industrial area in Medak district on Saturday afternoon. According to Y. Gangadhar Reddy, Deputy Inspector of Factories, a boiler exploded at Millennium Greentech India Private Limited located at Pashamylaram resulting in the death of Bivasan Giri ( 50).
Another three workers received minor injuries. It was stated that old tyres and tubes were being heated in the boiler to extract furnace oil, carbon powder and iron. While doing so, it was suspected that, the boiler reached to abnormal heat resulting in the blast and throwing Giri’s body for about 20 metres. The industries officials are also suspecting that they door of the boiler might have opened even before it was completely cooled leading to the accident. The Banoor police registered a case and are investigating.
