Adilabad: Nalima Rajam, 36 of Jaipur mandal headquarters in Adilabad, said to be an activist of TRS committed suicide on Saturday by slitting his throat by a knife in full public view. He committed the act amid shouting of Jai Telangana slogans as Telangana protagonists were enforcing the bandh near Jaipur bus stand.

A case has been registered by the police who denied Rajam being a member of TRS. According to the police the deceased was mentally deranged.

TRS activists threw eggs and tomatoes on the residence of Nirmal MLA A. Maheshwar Reddy for accompanying Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on his ‘Odarpu Yatra'. An RTC bus driver was injured in Adilabad town when protesters damaged the wind screen by pelting stones.

A bundle of Telugu newspaper Sakshi was torched by pro-Telangana agitators at Kadam while it was being transported. Miners attended duties wearing black badges at Bellampally, Ramkrishnapur and Mandamarri mines.

The bandh was near total as all markets remained closed for the day . At many places protesters including the BJYM burnt effigies and took out mock funeral processions of the Kadapa MP and Maheshwar Reddy.
