The family members of Kanduri Ramalakshmamma, 95, clarified on Thursday that she had not been abandoned as reported in a section of the press and that they were looking after her well in every possible way.
K. Mrutyunjaya Rao, son of Ms. Ramalakshmamma, said that his ageing mother was shifted to the verandah of his house at Sarvepalli Colony only as a temporary arrangement and it was not done intentionally to cause discomfort to her. It was misunderstood initially and this would be sorted out, he added.
A comfortable cot and fan had been provided to his mother to ensure that she felt comfortable. The family members said that due to her age, Ms. Ramalakshmamma was feeling discomfort this summer.
