Collector N. Mukteswara Rao on Thursday asked officials of the DRDA, Agriculture, Marketing departments and the various welfare wings to give priority to pending works and expedite their completion.
At a meeting in the Collectorate, Mr. Rao urged the mandal development officials to immediately take up an employment guarantee scheme for ensuring implementation of development works at the mandal-level, where labour was available and schemes were required.
Officials informed him that such schemes were required in 740 villages.
The Collector advised officials to take up horticulture plantation under the NREGS.
He said priority should be given to the completion of Indiramma houses, particularly the 32,000 units belonging to SC, ST beneficiaries who are at ‘lintel' and ‘roof' stages, by taking up loan sanctions with banks.
During his interaction with the Civil Supplies and Marketing officials, he requested the Civil Supplies Commissioner to allot 300 metric tonnes of wheat in view of the demand on eight lakh ration cards in the district.
