Secretary Municipal Administration and Urban Development B. Sam Bob, who is also Chairman of VUDA, inspected the ongoing works at YSR-VUDA Central Park on Saturday and directed the VUDA officials to complete it as per schedule and throw it open to public.
The Principal Secretary asked the officials to stick to standards and quality in works, as the park is prestigious not only to VUDA but also to the city. Greenery should be one among the priorities, apart from innovative attractions in the park, the Chairman said and asked the officials to visit and examine other parks like NTR Park in Hyderabad for adding unique features to the park.
Vice-Chairman of VUDA N. Yuvaraj appraised the Chairman on proposals and works taken up at YSR Park.
Earlier, Sam Bob visited the Indira Priyadarshini Stadium along with the officials. VUDA has taken up works pertaining to improvisation and renovation of the gallery in the stadium. Tenders were already finalised for the work but due to occupation of the gallery area by the CISF personnel, works were not initiated. The Chairman told the officials to start works soon after the CISF unit vacates the area. GVMC Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana also accompanied the officials.
