Mee Seva pilot project will be launched in the district on January 1, 2012. The scheme will allow the citizens to obtain various documents such as income and residence certificates through a wide network of kiosks.

It is aimed at issuing certificates to the citizens in a prompt and transparent manner as well as check corruption.

District Collector Siddharth Jain reviewed the preparations for the launch of the scheme at a conference held here on Monday.

He directed the officials to complete the process of computerisation of the records at the earliest.

Officials of all departments should gear up to implement the scheme effectively and ensure the assured services to the citizens, he said adding that the services of the scheme would be made available to the people in the entire district from January 1.

Crop loss

On the agriculture front, he asked the officials concerned to expeditiously complete the enumeration of crop losses and motivate the farmers to take up cultivation of alternative crops.

He further asked the officials to send the reports on farmers' suicide immediately.

The officials of revenue, agriculture, animal husbandry and other government departments were present.
