The scheduled ‘Odarpu yatra' of Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in the city has run into trouble with the city police asking the organisers to close on September 27 evening in the wake of the rush expected here for Dasara.
The organisers said the yatra would begin in the city on September 23 and continue till 30, but the police had put a spoke in the wheel saying that it had to be wound up on September 27. Former MLA and Y.S.R Congress leader Jaleel Khan has been running from pillar to post trying to convince the police top brass to let the yatra continue till September 30.
His argument was that the ‘real crowd' would come to the city only from October 1. The police officials said it would be difficult for Mr. Jagan to go around One Town areas with barricades for the queue being put in place already. With diversion of traffic from the national highways it would be difficult for Mr. Jagan's convoy to move around, they said.
