National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Chairman and Managing Director Arup Roy Choudhury made his maiden visit to 2600-MW NTPC, Ramagundam, in Karimnagar district on Thursday.
The NTPC CMD conducted an aerial survey of the Ramagundam super thermal power station and inspected the sites for the proposed two 660 MWs of eighth and night units of the power station. He also inspected the 10-MW solar power plant coming up in the township.
The solar power plant would start generation of power from March 2014. Later, he reviewed with the authorities about the functioning of power station, execution of solar power plant and the new thermal power plants in the NTPC Ramagundam.
Mr. Choudhury also met representatives of various unions of the NTPC Ramagundam and officials. Later, he addressed the employees and called upon them to face the new challenges in the growing power sector.
Earlier, the NTPC official planted a sapling and also inaugurated dry ash extraction system at unit-four and visited the unit four control room.
The 10-MW solar power plant to start power generation from March 2014
