The NSUI has reached out to the victims in the flood-affected areas by distributing woollen blankets, utensils, and groceries.
Talking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, NSUI State president Rajiv Ratan said, on the directions of AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi, the activists took up relief measures.
Mr. Ratan on Tuesday visited Amalapuram, Tuni, Gollaprolu, Rovthulapudi, and Kotananudru. Amalapuram constituency NSUI in charge G.V. Sriraj, Kothapeta MLA Bandaru Satyananda Rao, and NSUI district president Musini Baburao accompanied him.
Mr. Sriraj said NSUI and Youth Congress workers had plunged into action immediately after floodwaters entered some areas in the Amalapuram constituency and relocated them to relief camps.
He said Amalapuram MP G.V. Harsha Kumar had already given a representation to Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar on the damage caused to crops in the Konaseema area and sought compensation.
