About 300 NSS volunteers from over 35 colleges across the district took part in various events on Thursday, the opening day of the two-day NSS Youth Festival of M.G. University. Competitions in electrocution, group dance, essay-writing, singing and quiz (preliminaries) were organised at the MGU Anneparthe campus.

Inaugurating the festival, MGU Vice-Chancellor K. Narasimha Reddy said that there was scope for students to learn more outside the classroom. He said the NSS provides a platform for the students to showcase their cultural talent.

The NSS programme officers from 10 colleges are attending the festival.
