The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of JNTUH, Nachupally near Kondagattu temple shrine in Karimnagar district, participated in a week-long special NSS camp in Podur village of Kodimial mandal and took up several developmental and social awareness programmes from February 1 to 7.
Around 50 NSS volunteers including the girl students led by NSS programme officer B. Satyanarayana conducted a medical camp with the help of doctors in the village. They also visited various schools in the village and informed students about career guidance and personality development. They also narrated inspirational moral stories.
The volunteers conducted a door to door survey in the village to identify how many people were benefitted from the Individual Sanitary Latrine (ISL) programme. They also participated in shramdaan for two days and removed all the shrubs and cleaned the roads in the village. The students also campaigned against child marriage, child labour, sorcery etc.
