The Northern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited (NPDCL) has launched a solar helpline where the citizens could seek help for installing rooftop solar power and solar heaters.

NPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Kartikeya Misra said the company had prepared a list of frequently asked questions on installation, maintenance, vendors, cost and subsidy among others. The company was also planning to install solar power plants to provide power supply and had identified five locations in remote areas in Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, Adilabad and Nizamabad.

25 locations identified

At the 25 locations identified with open sky area of 66 acres, the company plans to generate 12 to 13 megawatts that would be marked for local consumption.

Mr. Misra said now the citizen could pay their electricity bills online.

The consumers can also pay their bills through 1,252 Mee Seva centres in five districts. During the month of April 2013, a total of 97,000 bills and in May 68,407 bills were paid through Mee Seva centres.
