HYDERABAD: A notice before admission was ordered by the Andhra Pradesh High Court, in a writ petition filed seeking removal of Forests Minister Satrucharla Vijayarama Raju from the State Cabinet.
The writ petition filed by N. Jayaraj came for admission before Justice P. S. Narayana on Friday. The petitioner alleged that in the past the Minister had been getting elected from constituencies meant for the Scheduled Tribes though he was not a tribal. Chief Minister and Secretary of the Lok Sabha were among the respondents. All the respondents will be served notices and then the case will be listed for admission and preliminary hearing.
Hearing on quota
A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday declared that the arguments in the writ petition filed challenging the reservation to the BC communities in the ensuing local body elections will be heard on Monday.
It may be recalled that Narayan Reddy filed the writ petition complaining that the reservation exceeded 50 per cent and the statistics are unreliable. The Government had filed counter affidavit and the case will be taken up for hearing on Monday.
