Congress Party’s petition to the State Election Commission seeking directions to stall screening of all movies featuring late NT Rama Rao and his family members that could influence the voters is illogical. Telugu Desam itself lost elections when NTR was alive. Congress party won the election with a thumping majority. Now banning his and his family members’ films will not have any impact on the electorate. Voters’ decision is beyond prediction despite wooing them in several ways.

N Ramalakshmi,

Bad roads

The roads in Padmaraonagar are in a very bad shape. There are no proper footpaths and due to uneven surface, there is every possibility of the elderly persons getting injured. There are two large garbage bins near SBI that are not cleared for days on end. Hope the authorities will look into the matter.

CK Chelavaraj,

Circulate details among voters

The EC must give extensive publicity about the dos and don’ts for the voters after the final list of candidates is released. It was learnt that a booklet was brought out by the EC for general information of the public and the same would be circulated through newspapers but nothing has been done so far.

CVK Mohan Varma,

Abandon pre-poll surveys

The surveys presently done by media forecasting parties’ success in the elections is hypothetical and unscientific. The present survey results in the absence of mention of candidates proposed by the parties, besides the independent candidates in the fray, is misleading and may influence the voters. Such surveys should be stooped.
